Balsam - a beautiful indoor flower that can grow to huge sizes. An adult shaped flower takes a pot of 25 l and reaches a height of up to 0.5 m. Such a plant forms up to 30 buds, and the size of the flower reaches 5 cm. Depending on the type of balsam, its flowers may be red, pink or white. For abundant flowering balsam, it is necessary to create suitable conditions: extend the daylight hours to 12-15 hours, replant the flower in a new pot as the root system grows and regularly fertilize the soil.
You can use chemicals, but if you are a supporter of organic farming, you need to find the right mulch and fertilizer. Consider several organic fertilizers suitable for natural farming.

H & H fertilizer
H & H fertilizer is a natural nitrogen fertilizer. Its basis is coarse bone meal made from ungulate meal. Such fertilizers have the longest effect. Biohumus or manure is completely decomposed three days after application to the soil. The fertilizer on the basis of hoofed meal decomposes within two to three weeks due to exposure to microorganismsBacteria that feed on bone meal, in the process of life emit a large amount of heat. Because of this, the balsam root system develops faster. Hoofed meal decomposes very slowly, so after fertilizing the soil, an excess of nitrogen is impossible.
It is necessary to fertilize the soil during balsam transplantation into a new pot. By this time the flower will dissolve the buds, but thanks to the bacteria in the fertilizer composition, the plant will tolerate the transplant well.
In warm soil, the balsam root system develops faster. In combination with “H & H”, it is necessary to add phosphate fertilizers to the soil.
Bone Meal and Soil Mulching
Ordinary bone meal can be used instead of factory fertilizer. In addition to the source of nitrogen, bone meal is a good source of phosphorus, but when you make it, you must follow the dosage of fertilizer. Since bone meal decomposes evenly, there is a risk of an overdose of nitrogen.
To reduce the effects of overdose, the soil must be mulched, and the balsam should be watered regularly. Then the nitrogen concentration and the risk of overdose will decrease.
