Which is better - Xbox One or PS4?
The prefix warfare from Microsoft and Sony has been going on for the second decade, and fans have not been able to find the answer, whose products are better. Let's try to evaluate the eighth generation of consoles, namely the Xbox One and PS4, impartially, highlighting the main advantages and disadvantages.

- 1 Xbox One
- 2 PS4
- 3 Conclusions
Xbox One
Xbox One World Release took place at the end of 2013, the month before the New Year holidays. The gaming system boasts the following characteristics:
- AMD Jaguar 8 x 1.75 GHz central processor;
- graphics processor AMD Radeon with a capacity of 1.31 Tflops;
- 8 GB DDR3 RAM with a frequency of 2133 MHz;
- non-removable hard disk with a capacity of 500 GB.
A very good joystick for the Xbox 360 has become almost standard and moved to One without any changes. Powerful enough at the time of release, the system supports games in Full HD resolution.
Of the well-known exclusives, there are Halo and Forza Motorsport series, as well as Crackdown, Phantom Dust, Crimson Dragon and Fighter Within games.
PS4
. Sony released its console, having missed Microsoft with only a week. In the seventh generation, the Americans had the best hardware, and in the eighth, the Japanese took the lead:
- AMD Jaguar 8 x 1.6 GHz central processor;
- graphics processor AMD Radeon with a capacity of 1.84 TFlops;
- 8 GB of RAM GDDR5 frequency of 5500 MHz;
- removable hard disk with a capacity of 500 GB.
Productive iron and a larger set of exclusives( God of War, Uncharted, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Detroit: Become Human) brought the prefix into unambiguous leaders. Unfortunately, Sony still has problems with online, and because of the lack of backward compatibility, you have to buy the games you like for PS3 again.
Conclusions
The consoles are used for three tasks: a full-fledged gaming system, working in tandem with a PC and a multimedia center.
In the first case, the coverage of PS4 games is noticeably larger. Except for Halo, the Xbox has virtually no popular exclusive series. A Microsoft fan will lose a lot more by going after his brand.
PC plus console? And here PS4 wins - MS announced the release of all its games on personal computers. Only in use as a pure Xbox One video player is a little more convenient due to the excellent work of Microsoft interface engineers.
PS4 net victory, which, by the way, is also reflected in sales statistics - the PlayStation is about twice as popular as the Xbox. The ratio did not change even the release of new versions of Xbox One X and PS4 Pro systems.
Despite the fact that the last five years, Sony confidently holds the lead, a new stage of the race is not far off - at the E3 2018 conference, both companies announced the imminent release of the ninth generation of consoles. Will the PlayStation widen the gap? Will the Xbox show something new and amazing? Most likely, we will learn about it in the fall of 2018–2019.
