Choose a good heater to the country

Convenientlyor longer stays, and how large the area of the room. Since, for example, the stove will heat the whole house well, but it cannot be left unattended for a long time due to the danger of fire. Or a compact portable fan heater, which quickly heats up a small utility room, but cannot cope with the heating of a large room in a harsh winter.

Types of heaters

Heating systems that are installed in suburban areas are, as a rule, ordinary fireplaces and stoves. But if it is not possible to constantly monitor the operation of such heaters and the country house is not used as a permanent place of residence, such devices are unsafe. What kind of heater to buy to the country, if it is rarely visited? It is worth considering options such as:

  • Oil;
  • Fan Heater;
  • Heat Guns;
  • Gas or electric convector;
  • Infrared;
  • Quartz;
  • Electrofireplaces.

Oil Heater

Such a device consists of several flat sections filled with mineral oil that look like a battery. Inside the device there is a heater, which heats the oil, thus, the room is heated. Oil heaters come in the form of a solid panel, however, its only advantage is its aesthetic appearance; it produces room heating less efficiently.

The advantages of the device in its energy efficiency and affordable price. And also most of the models are equipped with an emergency shutdown function in case of a fall. Despite the fact that he needs a lot of time to fully heat the room, the heat will not go away for a long time even after the device is turned off. The main drawback of an oil heater is that it heats up to 90 degrees, and it is not safe to keep it in a house where animals or children live.

Fan Heater

Compact in appearance, the device works by supplying air through the fan. It has a heating element( spiral) through which the cold air passes, thereby heating the room. From its advantages, a small size, and quick warm-up of the room, stand out. But the disadvantages are more significant:

  • high power consumption;
  • "burns" oxygen, dries and pollutes the air in the room;
  • is not suitable for heating large rooms;
  • noisy fan operation;
  • after long work, an unpleasant burning smell appears.

It is good to use such a heater for short-term heating of small rooms.

Heat Gun The principle of operation, like the fan heater, but it is more cumbersome and is able to heat a large room. It is used to heat large rooms, such as building sites or exhibition halls. It is not recommended for home use, since the air flow is hotter than that of a fan heater, and it is not safe with it. The advantages and disadvantages are the same as the fan heater.

Gas and electric convectors

Gas convectors operate on propane-butane, which must be brought independently in cylinders if the country house is not connected to a gas pipeline. The principle of work consists in absorption by the convector of cold air and releasing it already hot. The main advantage of a gas convector is its ability to work even with electricity turned off. The disadvantage is that this heater must be additionally made to go outside to remove the combustion products and because of the fire hazard it cannot be left unattended for a long time.

The electric convector works on the same principle, only the source of energy is not gas, but electricity. It is the most popular choice among buyers, as it is economical, compact and well warms the room. An electric convector is safer than a gas convector, provided that the house has good wiring.

Infrared Heaters

This heater, unlike others, does not heat the air itself. It produces infrared waves that heat the surface encountered, for example, furniture, floors or walls. And the heated surfaces already transfer heat to the air by warming the room. Infrared heaters are divided into three types: short-wave

  • ( heating element temperature up to 800 degrees);
  • medium wave( temperature up to 600 degrees);
  • longwave( up to 300 degrees).

In turn, the shortwave are divided into:

  • carbon( heating element-carbon fiber);
  • halogen( spiral of tungsten or carbon fiber);
  • quartz( spiral of sand).

Plus in favor of an infrared heater is an opportunity to put it on the street in the gazebo or on the balcony. It also works silently, consumes little energy and quickly heats the room. It can be placed on a wall, ceiling or on the floor. The minus of the heater is that short-wave models burn oxygen during prolonged use, and a long stay in the area of operation of the device will lead to poor health and dry out the skin.

Quartz heaters

This is a new type of heaters relative to their relatives. First of all, it’s good that you can leave it unattended, and even leave it on for a long time, since its heating elements are completely isolated. The heat produced by a monolithic slab, which is made of quartz sand. It is compact in size and works silently, but it is not easy to find on sale.

Electrofireplaces The advantage of an electrofireplace over a real one is that it does not need firewood and a smoke exit to the street. Otherwise, it completely imitates the look and properties of a real fireplace - the fire cannot be distinguished from the real one and the room will also be heated efficiently. Electric fireplaces have a wide variety of designs, you can install in any corner of the house. The only drawback - electric heater is the most expensive type of heaters presented in the article.

Heater choice

This question should not be solved, relying on a good or bad review, as a certain heater can be good, for example, for a small room, but a large one, it cannot warm up. When choosing, in addition to the size of the room, you need to take into account the material of the floors and walls in the room, which is planned to be heated. And also you need to pay attention to the quality of the windows to prevent heat loss. And most importantly, how often the heater will work, and how long it will remain unattended.

A formula that approximately calculates the power required for acceptable heating of the room will help in choosing a heating device - 1 kW of energy is spent for every 10 m2.

For houses where animals and children live, it is recommended to install infrared heaters or electric convectors - their body does not heat up too much. For the street suitable fan heater or infrared heater. In conclusion, it is worth noting that it is recommended to choose a heater with the help of a specialist.
