A beautiful well-kept rose garden in the front garden is the pride of any hostess. Due to the duration and multiplicity of flowering roses have become quite popular decorative cultures. However, even the most resistant varieties can cause diseases as a result of exposure to weather conditions, the appearance of pests and mistakes in growing. And in some situations one can observe how the leaves turn yellow in a rose - what to do in such cases?

We select fertilizers

A change in the color of the leaf mass in a plant may occur due to a lack or excess of fertilizers. Since, at a different period of development, a culture needs different nutrients and the lack of even one element becomes the reason why the leaves turn yellow in a rose.

Basic trace elements that have a strong influence on the development of the rose bush:

  • Nitrogen. This type of fertilizer is necessary for enhanced growth and accumulation of the vegetative mass. Its shortage makes the leaves light green at first, after which the rose turns yellow and the leaf mass begins to fall prematurely. At the same time, the formation of short thin shoots, slow growth and weak flowering are observed. At the same time decorativeness of the bush is sharply reduced. The excess of this microelement is characterized by rapid vegetation and a decrease in winter resistance.
  • Phosphorus. With an insufficient amount of the bush, the development of both the ground part and the root part is delayed. Therefore, the leaves turn yellow in the rose and fall further. With an excess of phosphorus, the rose begins to harden strongly, which leads to its premature aging.
  • Potassium. For the full formation of buds and shoots, the flower needs potassium and phosphorus. The maximum amount of consumption of these microelements is achieved during flowering and outflow to new shoots. Potassium starvation contributes to the appearance of yellow spots and browning on the leaves. As a result, they die off, and the development of the bush slows down dramatically.
  • Iron deficiency can cause chlorosis. The symptom of this disease is the appearance of yellow spots on the leaf, after which all the leaves turn yellow in the rose and fall off.

The timely introduction of complex fertilizers and preventive spraying with biostimulants such as Epin or Zircon will help to avoid such problems.
