If you want to set up the air conditioner for heat, but have lost the instruction and do not know how to do it, do not worry. All such devices work approximately equally, and therefore you can turn on the heat if you take advantage of our advice. But first, make sure that your air conditioner can still be set up for heating: not all models allow it. Safety precautions

Remember that you can not put the air conditioner on warm air if the temperature is too low in the street. So, some models operate at a temperature of at least -5... -8 degrees Celsius. If the heat is turned on in a severe frost, the outdoor unit may be icing and, as a result, breakdown.

The inverter air conditioner (with a winter kit) can also operate at a lower temperature. It can be put on heat at -10... -15 degrees Celsius. Of course, the split system alone can not cope with the heating of an apartment or house, and therefore should be used together with radiators.

How to switch the split system to warm air

To turn on the air conditioner for heating, you need to use the remote control:

• press the power button ("On / Off");
• find the button "HEAT" (heat) and click on it;
• if "HEAT" is not present on the remote, there must necessarily be a "MODE" button (mode switch) or any other above which a droplet, snowflake, sun and fan are drawn;

If the console does not have a sun, or the words "NEAT but other modes are present and displayed, it means that your split system can not heat the room.

• switch the modes until the sun appears on the screen or "HEAT
• Use the "+" and (or the up and down arrows) to adjust the desired temperature. It should be higher than the one now in the room;
• the fan is usually turned on and only then the air starts to heat up;
• After 5 (maximum 10) minutes, the air conditioner should start working on heat.

On some models, first set up the data on the remote and only then press the "On / Off" button. Remember that the split system must respond to your pressing: (to sing, blink, turn on and off).

Even if you have a sun or the inscription "HEAT this does not guarantee that the air conditioner will help warm up the room. Sometimes manufacturers use standard remote controls for all of their devices. It is better to clarify the characteristics of your model.

What to do if the air does not heat up

If it has already been 10 or even 15 minutes, and the air conditioner has not yet started producing heat, it means either it is not intended for this, or something has broken in it. There may also be one more reason: you did not manage to correctly set the settings. Try to do it all over again, carefully reading our instructions and listening to the reaction of the split system. After 10-15 minutes after switching on, bring your hand to the device and check whether the heat comes from it.

Sometimes the sun or the inscription "HEAT" seems to slip in spite of the fact that you correctly press the button. It may be necessary to change the batteries or simply pull them out and insert them again so that the system will work properly.

If there is not enough freon in the system, it also will not be able to heat the room. In this case, you will have to contact the repair shop.
