1 the drum may be still from the factory - this is absolutely normal and should not cause concern. Natural factory backlash does not provoke noise and additional vibrations. But if the machine is shaking and the drum is shaking and staggering so that it even touches the cuff, this is a cause for concern.
How to check the backlash
Option 1. First open the door of the machine, grab the drum and gently swing it, then roll it left and right. If during these simple manipulations you hear not a soft rustling, but a knock or creak of decent volume, then the breakdown is evident.
Option 2. Start the wash at the highest possible spin speed( it all depends on the CMA model, it can be 800, 1000, 1200 and even 1,400 revolutions per 1 minute).If at maximum speed the drum is swinging and jumping, and also beats when pressing on the machine body, it means that the bearing or shock absorber is broken. At this time, there are quite loud sounds.
How to clarify why the drum hangs
Need to look into the body of the CM below. When bearings fail, water begins to flow through the movable element attached to the back of the tank. In 9 out of 10 cases with such a breakdown there will be a puddle under the machine. If you find it, then you need to replace seals and bearings.
If the drum is loose, and at the same time of the additional symptoms you only found a knock, do not touch the bearings yet, but check the shock absorbers. To get close to them, do not have to completely disassemble the machine.
It is almost impossible to find out why the drum became loose without disassembling the case. Therefore, if the drum bothers you with excessive friction or sharply twists, then partially disassemble the washer:
- Remove the top cover. In most models, to release the case from the top panel, you need to unscrew the clips from the back wall and pull the cover towards you and upwards.
- Locate the shock absorbers. If you notice a breakage of the spring hangers and shock absorbers, you can exhale - the reason is found, and it is easier to fix it than to replace the bearings. And if the drum fasteners are safe and sound, you will have to disassemble again and again to get to the very "heart" of the washer and remove the worn bearings.
Important! If the drum is loose and touches the tank, do not hesitate with the repair, otherwise the final breakdown may no longer be repairable. Timeliness is the key to success of any repair procedures.
How to repair a washing machine drum, if it got loose
Before you repair a machine with a loose drum, collect the tools. If the repair is only to replace the springs or shock absorbers, then you will need a little:
- flat and cross screwdrivers;
- awl;
- keys;
- repair pair set.
But more is needed to replace tool bearings:
- Repair Kit( bearings, seals).
- Hammer with a copper beating part. He will need to gently remove the shaft and not damage the fragile parts.
- Metal stud. With it, you can knock out bearings. A steel rod or any similar device will do.
- "Cold welding" or silicone sealant. You will need them if in your SM model a folding tank - then it will have to be glued together.
- A handsaw will be needed for the same reason as a sealant.

- Two screwdrivers: negative and positive will unscrew the fasteners, which you will find a lot in the process of disassembling the washer.

- Grease for new items.
Caution! Change both bearings at once so that after a while you don’t have to disassemble the machine again.
Replace the bearings
To properly replace parts, you need to properly disassemble the housing. The catch is that the washers of different manufacturers are dealt with differently. You can reach the tank through the top panel in the following brands: Zanussi, Atlant.
Through the front panel we get the tank in the Samsung SM, Ariston, LG, Indesit, Bosch and Siemens. Some cars( for example, Electrolux) are disassembled into two parts, but the removal of the tank also occurs through the front cover.

Replacing dampers
Replacing suspensions or shock absorbers is a simpler task. But here there are some nuances: in some models, access to details is provided through the top, in others - from the bottom. If in your model disassembly needs to be done from the bottom, the repair will not take much time: you only need to twist the old shock absorbers and install new ones in their place.
Important! If only one shock absorber broke, BOTH elements are replaced.
How to change the shock absorbers, if they are dismantled from the front? The procedure is as follows:
- Remove the machine cover by unscrewing the rear mounts. Pull the panel towards you, then up.
- Remove the powder receptacle.
- Remove the base panel, which is hidden behind the "garbage" filter.
- Remove the front panel( with control unit).It is recommended to remove the wires, having previously photographed their location.
- Open the door and remove the UBL by unscrewing a pair of fasteners. Do not forget to remove the wiring going to the sensor.
- Pick up the seal band with an awl or thin screwdriver.
- Remove the sealing lip.
- Unscrew all the clips( behind the powder receiver, under the control panel, in the upper corners - left and right) and remove the front panel.
- Obtain access to the shock absorbers, replace them.
