Breadfruit - is this a myth or a reality? Is there really a tree on planet Earth that bears bread? Or is it just that some plant that plays an important role in people's lives is called? In fact, there is one tree on Earth, which is called bread, because its fruits are really very similar to bread baking.
However, there are other plants, sometimes called breadfruit trees, but in this case this expression is used in a figurative sense.
