Garden, if you do not keep track of, quickly twitching weeds. Stronger cultivated plants lure a variety of insects, including dangerous pests. More and more energy is given to watering and feeding. And yet, in a series of July concerns, a gardener has pleasant troubles - this is the beginning of a massive harvest of vegetables.

The harvest of vegetables in the July garden

Cucumbers in July are already familiar and come from the beds on the table almost daily. Culture has ripened, and with good care, and most importantly, with plenty of water, greenhouses grow literally before our eyes. Therefore, it is important not to let them linger on the whips.

Regular collection stimulates the formation of new ovaries and increases the yield of plants.

The same rule is valid for zucchini and squash, long been in the number of beloved Russians vegetables and ready for mass yield of the crop in July.

Fans of beetroot and summer borsch can enjoy healthy soups, fully prepared from the vegetables of the new crop. Among the vegetables of July fruiting are early cabbage, and not only white cabbage, but also color, Savoy and kohlrabi. If a bouquet of fragrant greens, including parsley, dill, and celery, could be picked in June, then by the middle of summer, beetroot and carrots were already poured into the gardens of the middle lane. In July, the first tomatoes appear.

It is time to pick up the early new potatoes. Tubers with a thin, frail skin are not yet ready for long-term storage, they dry out quickly and lose their presentation. Therefore, it is better to break in the bushes in the early morning hours, in the evening or in cloudy weather, and store potatoes for no longer than 3-4 days.

In order for the bush to continue to produce crops, it is not dug out entirely, but is carefully digged, slightly exposing the root system. After selecting the tubers, the soil is returned to the site and the plant is watered.

Watering garden crops in July

Water at the peak of summer requires almost all the inhabitants of the garden. Therefore, watering in the summer cottage’s calendar for this month is one of the most important tasks. So that the works are not in vain, the beds are watered in the morning or evening hours with warm water so that the soil under the plants is saturated with moisture to a depth of at least 15–20 cm.

ovary formations demonstrate cucumbers and tomatoes, sweet peppers and eggplants. The latter, if they feel a lack of moisture, quickly get rid of the already established small fruits, flowers, and even buds. It is possible to stimulate fruit setting, once every 10 days by combining watering with top dressing. In addition to organics, potash-rich wood ash is added to the liquid at the rate of 100 grams of fertilizer per bucket of irrigation water. You can hear that tomatoes almost from June should be limited to water. This is not true. In order for the plant to be able to tie up and endure a decent crop, 10 liters of water should be produced per square meter in July. The frequency of irrigation is adjusted according to the weather, preventing the drying of the root system of fruit-bearing bushes.

The hotter the July, the more intense the watering. In cool, cloudy weather, soil evaporation and plant requirements are reduced. So, the summer resident can devote more time to other concerns.

Plant care in July

In order to get the first tomatoes on the table, plants step by step. To be removed are the lower, gradually aging leaves, as well as greens, which grow inside the bush and prevent it from airing. The second half of summer often threatens cold nights and the spread of phytophthora. In areas where there is a high risk of such a loss of crop, or the plants no longer have enough heat, it is advised to pinch the tops in July. This measure will allow both to fill up and mature the ovary.

Hilling helps to improve the nutrition of crops such as tomatoes and potatoes. This work is combined with weeding and feeding. Weed control is carried out on all beds. In the middle of summer, while there is time until autumn, weeding can thin carrots, beets, parsley root and other root vegetables.

July nipping pumpkins in the garden helps to get a fully mature harvest by the fall. To do this, lash plants shortened, pruning after formed ovaries. The amount of pumpkin that should be left determines based on the characteristics of the variety. The larger the fruit, the less they will be able to grow and ripen.

In July, mass fructifying cucumbers are not only watered, but also fed. To do this, it is rational to use liquid specialized fertilizers, which immediately go to the roots and are used by plants.

Soil loosening under cucumber bushes is undesirable. But the addition of loose soil plants will be happy. In this case, they will be able to form additional roots and get a little more moisture and nutrition.

Although the main planting work in July has already been completed, it is still early to postpone seed stocks. As soon as the day begins to shorten, you can sow radish, daikon, autumn salads, Chinese cabbage. From the second half of July, these plants will have much less opportunity to bloom ahead of time.

Gardening in July against pests and diseases

In July, garden beds are good not only for cultivated plants, but also for pests, pathogens, and weeds. With all this uninvited "population" it is necessary to struggle carefully and systemically, otherwise it is not necessary to wait for an excellent harvest.

From the second decade of July cabbage shovels appear on the beds. The butterflies themselves do no harm, but their larvae are the worst enemies of all kinds of cabbage, as are cabbage flies flying at the same time. Above the bow in the middle of summer can be seen onion flies. If time does not carry out the treatment of the ridges, because of these subtle pests can be missing the lion's share of the crop.

On potatoes, the main pest is the Colorado potato beetle, also willingly making its way to the beds with eggplants, sweet peppers, and closer to autumn with tomatoes. The treatment of planting from insects can be combined with spraying from phytophthora, and if the year is wet, then from powdery mildew. The procedure is carried out in the evening in dry weather. After 10–12 days, the treatment is repeated. After spraying, it is possible to start harvesting only after 2–3 weeks.
