You bought and installed a new heater in your house and now you are puzzled, how to turn on the gas boiler? If you do not have the ability or desire to entrust this process to specialists, we will tell you in detail about all the steps and necessary actions so that this boiler can efficiently and stably heat your home. Proper installation, care when connecting the boiler, as well as strict compliance with the safety standards of using the device guarantee you a warm and comfortable home during the heating season.

Where do we start?

Household gas boiler is a powerful and productive device designed for heating the heat carrier and running the heated liquid through the heating system of the house. Modern boilers heat not only the batteries, but also the water in the tap in large volumes, have electronic controls and various safety mechanisms. When buying a boiler, you should pay attention to the heating area so that it is a little larger than your living space.

Naturally, you have already installed the unit itself and made all the necessary connections and piping of the heating system. Checked the chimney and traction, as well as the device itself for good operation and the absence of leaks. This stage of work, as a rule, occurs in the presence of employees of the gas industry, who carefully record all the results and “give the go-ahead” to use this device.

Important:

Some models of household gas boilers are very demanding to install. It is necessary to strictly comply with the instructions in the instructions - observe the distance from the wall, do not install the device near windows or tilted. Now you can start to start heating.

Fill the heating system with water

Before starting the boiler itself, it is necessary to fill the heating system - pipes and batteries, with heat carrier, that is, with water. To do this, unscrew the valve at the bottom of the boiler. For different models of boilers, the "appearance" of this supply valve may be different, but it is impossible to confuse it with anything. As a last resort, consult the manual for your device.

Opening the valve, we will begin to supply water to the pipes and batteries. Be sure to control the level of pressure, waiting for the mark of 2 - 2.5 atm. This indicator can be measured using a pressure gauge built into the boiler.

Important:

If the first start of a gas boiler occurs during the cold season, it is better to pre-heat the rooms with alternative heaters and supply “summer” water - about 18-20 °.

When the required pressure inside the system is reached, it is necessary to release air that can remain inside the batteries and pipes. Air plugs at times impair the heat transfer of your battery, do you achieve such a result?

Getting rid of the air inside the

system. In order to bleed air quickly and efficiently, it is necessary to unscrew the Mayevsky taps on each battery. First, you will hear a hissing or hissing - this is normal. If water starts running out of the radiator, it means that there is no airlock here.

Important:

Bleed the air from the battery that is at the highest level.

When you check all heaters - see what the boiler pressure gauge now shows. Probably, the pressure drops a little and you will need to feed the heating system with water.

But apart from the plugs in the pipes, the normal operation of the boiler can be hampered by the air inside the circulating pump. It is easy to fix. Some models are equipped with an automatic air release system, but, as a rule, it is not effective enough, so the first time it is better to get rid of airing by hand.

To do this, remove the front cover from the boiler body, then look for the pump itself - a cylindrical part with a plug for a flathead screwdriver. Sometimes, the pump is located behind the dashboard, which is easily removed or removed from the gate. To release the air from the pump, turn on the boiler in the outlet and start heating the water. The boiler will start up. The pump will also start to be included in the workflow - incomprehensible gurgling sounds inside the unit will confirm this - do not worry, this is air. Take a flat screwdriver and slowly unscrew the plug. When water flows - twist the plug back. This procedure should be carried out several times. When you stop hearing the gurgling of water inside the device, and your gas boiler starts to work, it means that you managed to get rid of the air inside the pump completely. At this stage it is necessary to verify the readings of the pressure gauge with the instructions for the device. In principle, you can stop at this - now your boiler will heat the water inside the radiators, and if it is a double-circuit unit, then it will be in the water supply.

Important:

After starting the boiler, the long-range batteries are turned on to the maximum, and the nearest ones are screwed on. To do this, use special valves regulators, which are installed on the inlet pipe of the radiator. After debugging the heating system, you can set a comfortable temperature of the batteries.

But pressure testing and flushing of the heating system will not be superfluous. After these procedures, you will be 100% sure that the inside of the radiators is clean and your heating system has no leaks.

Pressure Test

For this procedure, you will need a pressure pump. It is not necessary to buy it - most likely, it will no longer be useful to you. Such a tool can be asked for a while from friends or rented. Pressure testing can be carried out with a powerful air stream or a water jet with increased pressure and make a 10-minute pause. You do this in order to detect a leak, if any. If, after the performed operation, your operating pressure on the boiler has not decreased, the system is absolutely reliable and tight. If the pressure is below the worker - you should look for a leak.

Flushing System

This procedure will help clean your pipes and radiators from contamination. You should open all the taps on the batteries, substitute some capacious containers for them and supply water under pressure of 4 bars. Such a flow of water will clear the heating system from suspended matter, sediment and rust particles. After the initial rinsing, it is better to clean the system again. If any of the filters are clogged - shut off the supply valve installed at the inlet and clean the filter membrane from dirt.

Thus, we have done all the procedures prior to the first start-up of the gas boiler. Now you can hold the first inclusion.

After reading our article, you learned how to turn on the gas boiler, to clean the system and check the reliability of the connections of pipes and radiators. Now your heater will delight you with warm and comfortable conditions. If you adhere to all the recommendations and instructions to the boiler, correctly carry out the first start, the boiler will not let you down either in severe frosts or in a wet off-season.
