Why does the washing machine buzz and make a loud noise while spinning, washing, and drawing water?

Damage to household appliances always creates unnecessary problems and waste. Some devices warn with their non-standard behavior about possible malfunctions. For example, if the washing machine is abnormally abnormal, then soon it can be expected to fail. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the oddities in the operation of the washing machine and eliminate them in time.

Foreign objects

The most common reason that the washing machine buzzes during washing is when coins or other objects that you forgot to pull out of your pockets get into the sump. Periodically, you need to check this place in the washer for any small items, clean it, and then you can prevent extraneous noise during washing.

Loud noise in the washing machine

Before you put things in the washing machine, you need to carefully check the pockets of clothes for the presence of small items and remove them from there. Otherwise, soon it will be possible to hear how the washing machine buzzes or creaks.

A more complicated case occurs when the coins do not reach the sump and fall between the drum and the tank. With each movement of the drum, a hum or an unpleasant rattle will occur. An object that interferes with the normal operation of the equipment needs to be taken out, because over time it can get stuck somewhere and cause a more serious malfunction when the washing machine buzzes but does not spin the drum.

In order to get an object from under the drum yourself, you need to remove the heating heater, after loosening its fasteners. Now it will be possible to get a foreign object with tweezers from the hole formed. You need to act carefully so that the tweezers do not get there by accident. After the trifle or something else will be removed, the heater must be installed in its place, but first grease the sealing rubber with a degreasing agent.

Bad bearings

If the washing machine rattles in any operating mode even after cleaning the sump, then most likely the matter is in the bearings. Most often they wear out due to wear of the gland on the tank of the machine. Water seeps through it, causing the bearings to rust quickly. Usually, the hum rises during the spin cycle when the drum picks up speed and rotates faster accordingly.

Bad bearings

To confirm the malfunction, just twist the drum in different directions. If the move is smooth and without extraneous sounds, then the matter is something else. But if the drum rotates unevenly and is accompanied by a rattle, then the bearings need to be changed.

If a worn oil seal led to damage to the bearings, then rusty water will leak on the back of the washing tank. You can see them if you remove the back cover of the machine. In this case, both the oil seal and bearings must be changed at the same time, otherwise after a short time it will be possible to hear again that the washing machine is humming during operation or when it is gaining momentum.

Remember! Not paying attention to the fact that the washing machine is noisy, and its further use with unsuitable bearings can lead to shaft damage and more expensive repairs.

Drain pump failure

If the washing machine does not drain and hum, then the drain pump may be causing a malfunction. The natural wear of this element of the washing machine occurs after 5 years of regular use. But extraneous small objects that have leaked through the filter can also affect its performance.

Such malfunctions are easier to prevent than to fix on your own. To replace the drain pump, it is necessary to disassemble the machine, which is not recommended without the help of a specialist. If the washing machine does not drain and buzz, then you should immediately contact the repair master, stopping the wash at any stage. Pump life can be extended by periodically cleaning the filter and checking the drain system for cracks and blockages.

Loose drum pulley mount

Loosening the pulley holding the drum also causes the washing machine to knock. In this embodiment, the noise is amplified during the spin cycle, clicks and other uncharacteristic sounds are also heard. During operation, the bolt that secures the pulley may loosen. This can be checked by removing the back cover of the machine and trying to turn the bolt. In normal condition, it should hold tight and not give in with little effort.

In case of loosening of the fastener, the so-called free wheeling appears at the pulley, and the washing machine is very noisy during operation. To eliminate this, you need to unscrew the bolt and reinstall it in place. In this case, it is worth using a sealant that will allow you to securely fasten the bolt and prevent it from loosening again.

To check the correct fastening of the pulley bolt, it is worth starting the wash on the shortest program. If the washing machine is noisy, as usual, and does not emit a roar, then all the work is done as expected.

Weak tank counterweights

In the spin mode, a rather serious load acts on the tank. Counterweights are installed on it, which help to keep it in vibration. If the washing machine began to make a lot of noise, then perhaps the matter is in the mountings of these balances. When they are weakened, heavy counterweights hit the tank body and make a loud noise. If they are not fixed, as it should, then over time they can collapse.

Replacing the balances is a straightforward procedure, but it is easier to fix the malfunction before they break. First you need to check the integrity of the balances themselves, and only then take care of their consolidation. If any defects were found during a visual inspection, then it is better to replace them immediately. Destroyed counterweights can even ruin the tank body and cause the washing machine to rattle and shake during operation.

Motor brush wear

Another common reason why the washing machine is noisy but does not spin the drum is the wear of the motor brushes. In this situation, often the washing machine during operation is noisy as usual, draws and drains water, but the drum rotates with difficulty or does not move at all. When collecting water, no extraneous noise can be observed, but when it comes to washing, the drum can knock.

Motor brushes

To replace the motor brushes yourself, you will have to disassemble the washing machine. The motor must be removed, and after the replacement, put everything back in place. Of course, it is better to entrust this work to a specialist, because this is how you can get a guarantee.

Before you begin to find out the reasons why the washing machine is buzzing, you need to weigh your capabilities. Not all malfunctions can be eliminated on their own, because disassembling the washing machine and its subsequent assembly requires specific knowledge on the construction of this complex technique.
