The use of wooden finishes in the interior is considered a classic interior decoration. The material can be used as decorative panels, flooring and some individual elements in the house. For what reasons is it better not to use a tree?
Features of use
Wood is a special material that requires careful preparation, processing, and then careful operation. First of all, any tree does not tolerate the effects of water and high humidity. Some install wooden furniture and sinks in the bathroom, and afterwards they regret it very much, since such material wears out much faster than plastic.
The tree burns excellently, when it is processed, special impregnations are used - flame retardants. But in a fire, the wood trim will begin to smolder, releasing toxic smoke into the air. Do not place such material in the immediate vicinity of the fire.
The tree tends to rot and mold, so that this does not happen, it is treated with antiseptic impregnations in production. If this is not done, then the cladding will irreversibly collapse and clog the indoor air with mold spores.
Wood flaws
A tree under repair looks impressive and expensive. Such decoration creates coziness and warmth in the room, but at the same time it is not without drawbacks. Due to the combustibility of the tree, it requires careful additional impregnation with special substances that are toxic to the body. With poor impregnation from insects and harmful microorganisms, the structure of the tree will begin to deteriorate over time, it will be almost impossible to restore it.
If soft wood, such as linden, pine or fir, was used in the interior design, then soon it will be covered with scratches and dents. Even the smallest exposure can leave defects on the surface. Some of them are polished or covered with special waxes, and some cannot be hidden.
Making a solid and reliable wood will be very expensive, and this despite the fact that the wood serves a shorter time than all similar materials.
If we are talking about wall cladding, then the apartment should have a lot of space, since the boards will be attached to the crate, which eats up most of the area. No matter how well the wood is processed, with high humidity it will increase in size and may also give in to decay.
Elements made of wood need re-treatment with varnish or impregnation, so that they retain their original appearance. Facing and other interior items will have to be varnished once every three years.
