DIY vacuum cleaner repair: video

In any living room, a large number of electrical appliances are used. Vacuum cleaner repair can easily be done with your own hands, just having a standard set of tools with you.

Diagnostics

Regardless of the model or design of vacuum cleaners, most often any problems with this technique are associated with engine malfunctions. If the device buzzes, becomes dusty, or makes intermittent sounds during operation, this engine jams. At the same time, if the vacuum cleaner does not suck in debris or the pressure is insufficient for normal operation, then most likely these are hose malfunctions.

Troubleshooting:

  1. In the event of a drop in suction speed and force, the most common cause is bearing failure. In this case, one can also observe a periodic restoration of the functionality of the device, i.e. a temporary drop in its effectiveness does not affect permanent work;

  2. If the vacuum cleaner buzzes, but litter and dust are normally absorbed, then the cause is a motor problem. Basically, all breakdowns associated with a weakening of power relate to the motor device;

  4. If there are no loud noises during operation, but at the same time, the vacuum cleaner does not absorb the usual amount of debris, then the hose is not tight. Please note that the problem may lie in the violation of the integrity of the corrugation, as well as in the breakdown of the receiving brush.

You can disassemble a standard vacuum cleaner Electrolux, Philips (Philips), Thomas (Thomas) or any other for repair according to the following instructions:

  1. There are two screws under the dust cover. They need to be unscrewed and the sealing plastic grate removed. With such a technique, it is also possible to install a similar lattice using screws or any other threaded connections. Unscrewing is done clockwise with suitable cross-section screwdrivers;
  2. Following the sealing grill, carefully remove the dust cover and control buttons of the vacuum cleaner. They are most often installed as a separate unit;

  3. Depending on the design of the dust collector, it can either be removed or it is necessary to unscrew the bolts in it separately, and then remove the garbage collection system. Under this block is a couple more bolts that secure the housing to the engine mounting location;
  4. Often on the back of the handle of a standard vacuum cleaner there is another hidden screw. It needs to be unscrewed, after which it becomes possible to separate the case from the base on which the device motor is fixed;
  5. A special fabric gasket is installed at the inlet of the intake hose to the engine to protect the internal structure. It is removed or completely replaced (in the presence of holes or a high level of clogging);
  6. Two wires are supplied to the engine, which produce its power. They are installed with screw clamps. Accordingly, the screws are loosened and the wires are disconnected;
  7. When inspecting and repairing any vacuum cleaner brand Bosch (Bosch), Lji (LG), Electrolux, Rainbow, Panasonic and others, you must immediately check the condition of the bearings. They are responsible for the smoothness and power of the work. If bumps or cracks are found on them, then they are immediately replaced. Also, any professional master will try to rotate the brushes and the motor armature. In case of failure of any pair of bearings (top or bottom), this operation will be unsuccessful;
  8. Next, you need to disassemble the engine of household vacuum cleaners. Please note that if you have not previously encountered such repairs, it is better to contact the warranty center;

  9. The cover is removed first. It can be pry off with a small metal ruler or strap if there is no flat and thin screwdriver available. Many experts note that due to the fact that it is rather densely mounted on the engine, it will be necessary to tap it lightly several times. The main thing is not to damage the integrity of the part;
  10. Under the cover is an impeller mounted on the built-in nuts. The main difficulty of this operation is that in addition to carving the nuts are mounted on the glue, therefore, we immediately recommend using a solvent;
  11. Under the impeller there are four more screws that hold the engine cover. They need to be unscrewed;
  12. As soon as you get directly to the motor, you need to check the operability of its individual parts and replace them if necessary. Assemble in the reverse order.

At the same time, maintenance of washing vacuum cleaners (Karcher - Karcher, Zelmer - Zelmer, Bork - Bork and others) is significantly complicated by the presence of a water pump. It supplies water to the dust collector and is installed on its course, therefore, in addition to the described steps, you will also need to unscrew it.

Fix

Before disassembling the models of Hoover, Vitek, Samsung, Rowenta (Roventa) vacuum cleaners and others for parts in order to get to the engine and repair it, you need to check the power cord. Due to the fact that the cord is constantly in the active state (it is being pulled from room to room, it is under constant tension), it wears out quickly. To check its performance, you can use the most common multimeter. After locating the fiber fracture site, replace the faulty area or cut the cable to the desired length.

If the pressure in the Dyson or Miele vacuum cleaner starts to drop noticeably during operation, the first thing to check is the filters. They become dirty after each use of this cleaning technique, but not every housewife cleans them with such frequency and thoroughness as dust collectors. Every few months, you need to not just knock out, but also stretch from the villi. Otherwise, with each use, the vacuum cleaner will suck up less and less debris, and over time, a fairly serious engine repair will be required due to poor performance.

The operation scheme of a standard “dry” vacuum cleaner is a tandem of two engines. One is the motor, and the second is the engine, which makes the brushes of the first engine work. It should be noted that in addition to the motor inside the vacuum cleaner, these same brushes and bearings can also wear out. In some models of vacuum cleaners (say Siemens - Siemens, Vax, Vao, Dyson), you can repair them yourself, in most others it is better to take them to a service center right away.

After proper disassembly, replacing any broken internal spare part with a working one will not be difficult. The main thing is to take into account the brand and size of the previous one. In particular, always pay attention to the material and size of old bearings.
