Electric light is necessary for people in absolutely any field of activity, but, unfortunately, it is far from always possible to connect to a local electric network. In such cases, it is recommended to use battery-powered LED lights, and we suggest considering which models are best to buy and how to assemble such a flashlight yourself.
Operating principle
Camping or portable luminaires have been widely used due to the fact that they can be used literally everywhere, the main thing is that there is enough battery power. Depending on the type of battery, you can choose models on batteries (which charge lasts for several weeks or even months), or from small batteries, which are mainly used for short-term turns on and backlights (household).
Wireless lights are quite convenient in emergency situations when there is simply no way to connect to the network or it can be life threatening: in case of fires, floods, etc.
There is also a certain category of lamps called
furniture. They are mounted in furniture, and with the help of batteries they work for a long time, without requiring repair or replacement. This is a very convenient solution for those who decide to diversify their interior, but do not want to figure out where to put wires from the network and lamps. Such models can be equipped with music (for nightclubs or thematic design), a motion sensor (very convenient in a large house or on the street) or a laser.What are they used for? wireless led lights:
- As decorative lamps for furniture or walls;
- For lighting inaccessible places;
- As independent table or wall lamps (say, bedside lamps or sconces on batteries);
- Like street lamps for a summer house or a country house.
How to make a portable lamp
Now on sale you can find almost all types of battery-powered lighting devices: sconces, table lamps, pendant or ceiling, but their cost is slightly higher than that of incandescent lamps. In particular, this is due to the fact that they do not require replacement - one LED lamp is able to work for more than 8 years. We suggest considering how to make a battery-powered LED lamp.
- On the back of the LED strip or at the bottom of the LEDs, it says what voltage they work from. Depending on this indicator, you need to select a battery, the LEDs are from 1 to 6 volts.
- Choose a battery that produces the right voltage for the lamp. The larger the battery, the longer it will last.
- We also need either a lamp housing (if we want to create a portable pocket lamp), or any other box in which we need to install LEDs.
- Count the number of LEDs, you can also use round spotlights or even touch-sensitive ones - it all depends on the future purpose of the lamp and the type of battery. Then you need to calculate how many diodes are needed.
- We calculate the amount of LED strip (if you decide to use it as a light source). Multiply the number of diodes by 2, and then subtract 2. For example, if you want to apply 6 tapes, multiply 6 by 2 to get 12, and then subtract 2 to get 10.
- Cut the strip to the desired size with the help of a clerical knife. Strip the wires and their ends for ease of installation.
- Loosen the tiny screw terminals with a suitable size screwdriver and connect the wires to the battery through them. It must be ensured that you do not confuse the plus and minus, otherwise the lamp will not work on battery power.
- Use a short wire and connect one end (no matter which) to the battery. Insert the cable under the screw and tighten it with a screwdriver or an adhesive strip, check the connection.
- Take the other end of the wire and connect it to the second terminal using the same method. Connect the opposite ends of the wire attached to the first terminal and combine them with the second.
- If the battery is connected to more than two wires, they must be combined with a special holder or adapter and brought to the battery.
- Cut two long strips of wire using a knife, from about 18 to 24 centimeters. Strip the wires.
- We connect the power cables and wires of the LED strip, seal the connections, turn on the device. If the light comes on - everything is done correctly, if not, then check that the lamps are connected to the battery correctly.
For furniture, the star connection is most often used. If you combine Chinese mini-diodes, then they will need an order of magnitude more than ordinary lamps.
