The summer season is approaching, and many homeowners are thinking about building a greenhouse. In order for the construction to serve more than one year, it is better to make the segments removable. To do this, it is worth collecting the frames and glazing them with any convenient material. For greenhouses, monolithic or cellular polycarbonate is most popular. We will figure out how to make the structure durable, but at the same time easily removable, that is, how to assemble the frames.
Assembly steps
Before collecting frames, it is necessary to find out the size of the required segments. That is, suppose that the greenhouse is assembled from a metal corner or profile. It is necessary to measure the dimensions of the sectors. At the same time, the sites should not be made too large, this will complicate both the assembly and the installation and shooting process in the frame.
To assemble the frames, you can use wooden slats, which are sawn at an angle of 450 and glued together. In order for the connection to be strong, the corners are additionally twisted into self-tapping screws. You can also use furniture corners to fix a strict corner of the frame.
After the frame is assembled to a given size, a polycarbonate sheet is cut out. Carefully refer to the direction of the material. When cutting, it is worth considering that from heating the polycarbonate will expand slightly, which means that the mount to the frame should be somewhat mobile. Here, it is understood that the diameter of the hole in the polycarbonate should be wider than the diameter of the self-tapping screw.
Polycarbonate is screwed to a wooden frame with screws. In this case, a rubber washer-seal should be laid between metal and plastic. This will increase the tightness and will not allow two moving materials: wood and plastic, to influence each other. On the back of the wooden frame, glue a rubber sealant around the entire perimeter (sold at any hardware store). Ready-made frames can be laid in the greenhouse sector.
Frame Lock
In order to keep the frames firmly in the metal corner, several fixation methods can be used: a mosquito net installation system, latches or self-tapping screws. Fixation with screws is more reliable, but will not allow you to quickly and easily remove a segment, which is often very important.
