Drying in the dishwasher - the last stage of processing cutlery. Thanks to this function utensils are completely eliminated from moisture residues, so that the user takes out clean and dry plates, cups, spoons. Manufacturers offer different types of drying in PMM - for every taste and purse. Do you like to save resources, like speed and fast results? Which technology is better to choose, we'll consider in the article.

Types of drying

Previously, in all Bosch dishwashers and other brands only one type of drying was used. Today there are several varieties of this function - the choice depends on the goal that you are pursuing. Let's consider each technology separately.

Condensation or condenser type

This is one of the first dryers that appeared in dishwashers, it is still used in the models "Bosch "Milli". Some manufacturers mark it as turbothermic or static.

The dishes dry naturally, which saves energy. At the end of the washing, the appliances are heated with hot water, then the hopper door starts opening slightly. Due to the difference in temperature, a condensate accumulates on the walls of the compartment, which subsequently flows into a special compartment.

+ Resource saving, the result is satisfactory.

- long waiting, plates can dry for 24 hours.

Convective or convective type

Turbo-drying is used in most modern PMMs (Electrolux, Korting, Smeg, Miele). In the descriptions of the technique you can find such a name - hot air drying. Suitable for those who appreciate their time, because the dishes dries out in a few minutes.

In the dishwasher there is an additional heater and a fan. The heater constantly heats the air, and the fan pushes it into the hopper. Cutlery is hot air, so it dries quickly.

+ speed, improve the quality of drying.

- a large expenditure of energy, an inflated price of equipment.

Intense (active) type

The dishes with intensive (active) drying are dried much more efficiently. Users note the absence of droplets and stains on the surface with reduced power consumption. How does the function work? To reduce the price of PMM, the manufacturer decided to apply the laws of physics.

Around the chamber of the dishwasher is a heat exchanger filled with cold water. In the bunker the temperature is much higher, so there is a difference in pressure. Also near there is an air collector, which lets out streams. Due to pressure, air circulates through the chamber.

+ Economical energy consumption, better efficiency than condensation type.

- Drying dishes longer than convection technology.

Zeolite type

A new development based on natural material - zeolite, is found only in the latest models of NEFF and Bosch. The mineral is located at the bottom of the hopper. As soon as water gets on it, it heats up, giving heat to the chamber. A hot airflow contributes to the drying of the dishes. After opening the door there is no steam - this is a huge plus. Also, the technology does not consume energy, because the zeolite will work until the end of the MMP service life.

Less is the high cost of such dishwashers.

Intellectual type

This technology is really amazing. The machine has a built-in sensor that scans the temperature inside the room. If the room is hot, then drying involves a cold blowing of the appliances. If it's cool, then the last rinse will be done with hot water.

A similar function can be found in the "Milli" models. Some PMMs come with an ultraviolet lamp that sterilizes and dries the dishes after washing.

Want to save even more? Then turn off the dishwasher at the last rinse, pull out the plates and use the open-type drying - "in the old-fashioned way."

Classes and modes

Not only modern technologies determine the quality of drying. Great influence is rendered by class A, B, C, D and so on. Class A is considered the most effective in terms of the amount of residual moisture. However, users note that in different machines the class manifests itself in different ways. For example, with a static type of drying, even with an efficiency mark "A moisture still remains on the surface. See the table below:

Class Residual humidity index
A more, 8
B , 6 8
C , 9 6
D , 5 9
E , 4 5
F , 3 4
G less than 3

What class to choose, it's up to you. When buying equipment, compare with it the power of built-in functions.

The operating instructions show how to turn on the rinsing and drying in the dishwasher. Modern technology is filled with other useful features. For example, a special compartment Dosageassist keeps the tablet for washing. Therefore, it does not fall on the dishes, which improves the quality and reduces the rinse time.

We hope that our article will help you make the right choice. Remember: expensive is not always good.
