Probably most of all people know about Gothic precisely as a style in architecture. With this word, lonely, gloomy and incomparable beauty buildings are provided with lancet windows and pointed towers crashing into the sky.
Looking at such a structure from the outside you will not call it light and airy, but rather gloomy and sinister. Yes, the exterior is bulky, equipped only with sharp tips and decorated with terrifying statues in huge numbers. But inside there is truly a kingdom of light and grace, special designs made it possible to make huge stained-glass windows of unprecedented beauty, thanks to which enough sunlight penetrated inside the cathedral. And of course, from the inside the building looks incredibly majestic and the heart stops beating at the sight of the arches going so high up that they are lost sight of.
Gloomy cult
A similar style, like all its illustrative examples, can neither scare nor fascinate at the same time. But, plus everything, gargoyles and books about dark priests and witches did their job. It is undeniable that at first glance such silhouettes look quite intimidating and that similar cultural layering only gives charm, but nevertheless there are more myths than truth, in principle, as with everything Middle Ages.
Goth and gothic
Architecture has stood unchanged for centuries, but there are also those trends in the Gothic that were born recently, continue to be reborn, and still live.
It is not entirely true that the Goths are people dressed in black. These are people with their own philosophy, their world, and their unique culture. Gothic style in architecture is remarkable for its monumental grandeur, and with souls it is ready the same. In some ways, they can be compared with medieval cathedrals. Just as lonely and majestic inside, and just as frightening outside.
Modern Gothic clothing, of course, retained few similarities with the original image, but adopted a lot from the architectural style. In the vertical line of the corset you can trace the vaulted ceilings, many small decorative elements that form one magnificent picture, similar to the details and layered clothes. And in the whole image, mysticism and mystery are visible, certainly attracting the eye.
