A heated towel rail, or, as it is also called plumbing, a “towel” is one of the main attributes of a bathroom. It is very convenient to dry small items of clothing, clothes, and, of course, wet towels on them. A few decades ago, towel warmers were made manually from a suitable pipe size, which was heated and bent by a snake. Such drying looked rather scary - a curved pipe with rough welds.

Modern water heated towel rails look much more attractive than their predecessors during the Soviet deficit era. One of the most common is water heated towel rails with a side connection in the form of a ladder or a coil. The algorithm for their connection is approximately the same and does not depend on the shape of the product.

Features of lateral connection of the heated towel rail
Side connection is considered one of the most practical and reliable. Almost all domestic heated towel rails can be connected to the water supply in accordance with construction standards. As for imported models, they are connected mainly to the heating system. The disadvantage of this connection is that the device will only work in the heating season. When buying a device, you must pay attention to this feature.

Side connection provides the following benefits:
- The appliance will work regardless of the direction in which the water in the riser moves. In this case, the velocity of the coolant does not play any role;
- If the hot water is suddenly turned off, there is no need to bleed air from the heated towel rail;
- The device can be installed from a riser at a distance of up to 4 meters, if a polypropylene pipe of at least 25 mm in diameter is used for connection.

General recommendations for connecting the heated towel rail in a "side" way are as follows:
- So that the heat is not lost in vain, the heated towel rail should not be installed too far from the riser - a maximum of 2 meters;
- It is undesirable to use metal-plastic pipes when connecting;
- The supply pipe is installed with a slope of not more than 10 mm in the direction of water movement;
- To connect, it is advisable to use "American", with which a heated towel rail can be quickly removed in case of breakage;
- When connecting, be sure to use the bypass and ball valve to turn off the water supply to the device;
- All joints must be sealed using flax and sealant;
- Do not install taps on a heated towel rail that is connected as part of a riser.
With a side connection, water is most often supplied from above. When installing the device, a slight slope of 3-4 mm must be observed. per linear meter.
