Workshop on making the symbol of 2022, a tiger - cup coasters

On the eve of the New Year, 2022, I propose to make a cup holder in the shape of a tiger cub - a symbol of the coming year.

The tiger cub can be used as a kitchen decor and as a hot plate. And as a New Year's gift you can't think of a better idea - a useful and cool thing!

You will need:

• Scissors;
• Glue gun;
• Felt orange, yellow, dark brown;
• Thread, needle;
• CD disk.

Manufacturing steps

1. Since our tiger cub will be made of felt, the work will not take long. It is convenient and easy to work with this material. Prepare the brown, orange and yellow felt.
2. If you want your cup holder to be tighter, you can use an old CD. It should be placed inside our craft.
3. We cut out a figurine of a tiger by eye, you can make a template in advance. But I don't. Felt is convenient because you can always correct the shape with scissors. Cut out two forms of the torso, tummy and muzzle.

4. We also harvest strips from dark brown felt, the eyes can be cut out of felt or embroidered with threads, you can use beads. First of all, we sew the tummy to the front of the body with ordinary straight stitches.
5. You can sew on a sewing machine, but it doesn't take much time by hand either. Then we attach the strips with hot glue.
6. Now we put in the lower part of the body and sew the front and back parts with a buttonhole seam. It has such a form on the reverse side.
7. I chose yellow threads for contrast, so that the stitches were visible. So our craft will look more original. The stitches are approximately 0.5 cm apart.
8. Let's get down to the muzzle. We embroider a mustache, a mouth on the face and sew on a nose.
9.  Now we sew this muzzle to the head of the tiger cub. We also make out the ears.
10.  We attach the bangs and strips to the cheeks with hot glue. I originally made the eyes from felt, but after that I decided to use ready-made ones. These eyes can be purchased at any craft store.
11. As well as the body, we sew the details of the head with a buttonhole seam, without finishing to the end under the chin.
12. We put the head on the neck and sew the craft. The tiger is ready. You can simply hang it or put it somewhere in the kitchen. You can stuff the craft with cotton wool or any other filler - you get a soft toy for decorating a Christmas tree. But my goal was to make a nice cup holder.
