How to decorate a vase in a rustic style? This requires the following materials:
- thick linen thread;
- tall transparent glass;
- PVA glue;
- scissors;
- buttons and other items.
The basic material can be bought at a garden store, called a garden cord, or at any yarn store. Jute, linen or hemp thread. The thicker it is, the more expressive the texture will be, and it will take less time to make. The glass can be taken transparent or with a pattern, the threads cover it completely and the pattern will be visible only from the inside.
After preliminary preparation of materials and workplace, you can start manufacturing. The thread is attached to the glass with glue. Moreover, it is not necessary to grease the entire surface with glue, it is enough to fix the first two or three turns. Then you need to tightly wind the thread around the glass, turn by turn, straightening and carefully laying it so that it completely covers the glass. The upper half is decorated with beige threads.
After the required number of turns has been made, the winding continues in a different color. In this case, green. The last turns are lubricated with PVA.
And at the end of the winding, decorative borders are made in three or four turns, fixed with glue. This completes the main work.
The final part is the decoration with decorative elements. These can be large buttons covered with a fabric similar to burlap and similar in color and coloration. In addition to the buttons, there are also metal plaques, more graceful, although they are close in color, they will still contrast to the right degree and emphasize the roughness of the craft favorably. After drying, the glue loses its milky color and becomes transparent.
