6) AMD Ryzen 3 1200

The top processors according to the 2021 version are opened by the proven budget AMD Ryzen 3 1200 model. The 4-core processor is perfect for both office tasks and simple games. And thanks to the AM4 socket common to all Ryzen processors (Zen to Zen 3), you can leave room for future upgrades. The device has an unlocked multiplier and supports high frequency DDR4 memory up to 3200 MHz, which in in conjunction with nVidia 1060 or AMD RX570 graphics cards, it makes it possible to play fairly demanding games with comfort.

The processor frequency can reach 3.7-3.9 GHz when overclocked. But then TDP will increase from 65W to almost 100W. Therefore, you should think about a suitable cooler for the device. Among the additional advantages of this model, one can single out a large cache (2 MB for the 2nd level, and 8 MB for the 3rd level).

5) Intel Core i5 9400F

Next comes the six-core INTEL Core i5 9400F, one of the few current 9th generation Core i5 models. There will be no problems during the assembly of the processor. The multiplier of the device is locked, but, unlike the previous processor, this is more of a plus than a minus. Another advantage is the Turbo Boost mode, during which the frequency reaches 4.1 GHz per core.

Multi-threaded performance here is 3.9 GHz. Among the shortcomings of the model, one can single out the price and the fact that it does not support the hyper trading function. This function is necessary for the efficient use of all processor resources, but for the average user its absence is not very important. And the price is offset by more affordable components.

4) INTEL Core i7 10700KF

This eight-core processor from INTEL belongs to the Comet Lake family and can compete with such flagships as the Core i9-9900K. This is possible due to the fact that the engineers during the development decided to “turn on” the hyper-trading function, which is why the already great performance became even greater. But at the same time, the model is very demanding on the quality of power supply on the motherboard, and you need to assemble the system only on the S1200 socket.

This processor is suitable for those who need maximum performance and multitasking. Previously, the device was a competitor to the Ryzen 3700X, which will be considered further, but was inferior in price (was $ 100 more), however after price leveling, it became more in demand among buyers, as it is more promising and capable of overclocking to 5.1-5.3 GHz per core.

Of the advantages of the model, it is worth noting high performance, ease of overclocking and an already affordable price. Among the shortcomings: the fact that the processor needs a powerful high-quality power supply and a good cooling system, as well as the impossibility of upgrading the processor on its socket.

3) AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

The octa-core Ryzen 3700X is an excellent processor that competed against the powerful Core i7 10700KF in 2020, which it lost to after price cuts. However, the processor is still affordable, works with budget components and has high performance with multi-threading. It is inferior to its competitor only in performance per core (4.7-4.8 GHz versus 5.1-5.3 GHz).

2) AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

In second place in the ranking of the best processors in the first half of 2021 is the 12-core model from AMD - Ryzen 9 5900X. This device has almost doubled the cache memory, and the Zen 3 architecture has solved most of the problems that AMD processors with Infinity Fabric had.

The processor is expensive and suitable for those who need maximum performance and power. So far, the only competitor is the Core i9 10900X, which, as in the case of the previous pair, overtakes AMD in frequency by one core. Regarding the frequency: in boost it reaches 4.8 GHz, and during overclocking - 5.1 GHz.

1) Intel Core i9 10900X

In first place is the flagship Core i9 from Intel. Competes with the most powerful Ryzen models, but only in video games. This is due to its maximum frequency of 5.3-5.4 GHz when overclocked. In performance and multitasking, it is inferior to competitors. There is not much to say about the device - it is of high quality, reliable, demanding, very expensive and more suitable for gaming.
