What is the power?

A modern hob can have a connection power of 3 to 10 kW. This figure depends on the number of burners and their total capacity. As a rule, the electric stove has several burners of different diameters. In standard models, one of them is the largest and most powerful (up to 3 kW), two have an average output (up to, kW), and the latter (with the smallest diameter) - up to 1 kilowatt.

The total connection capacity of the electric hob depends on the model, the number and size of the burners. Of course, it is more convenient to use a plate with 4-6 circuits with high capacity: they are fast heat up, easily cope with a large amount of food and can shorten your stay on kitchen. However, when choosing a stove, you need to consider not only your own convenience, but also the possibilities of wiring.

How much do you need kilowatts

In apartments and houses with old wiring to install a modern powerful electric cooker is very problematic. Therefore, before such a purchase, it is necessary to take care of the replacement of the wiring, and also to determine the maximum permissible power of the hob connection. It is advisable to do this with the help of an electrician.

If you still decide to act on your own, please note that the power of the new panel is provided by a cable with a cross-section of cores of at least 4 mm2. Ideally, there should not be any outlets: it is better to connect the plate directly. For an apartment in an old house, a hob with a capacity of up to, kW is suitable. In new houses and apartments without a gas pipeline, you can use a plate of up to 7 -10 kW.

When buying, be sure to consider the power connection of all the other appliances in the house, so as not to overload the electrical network.
