Korovyak is a natural organic fertilizer obtained from the waste of large animals. According to its composition, it is not inferior to store-bought mineral preparations and can be used for dressing of almost all cultures.
Composition and types of mullein
Thanks to the nutrients that make up this fertilizer, plants get good nutrition. The basis of the mullein are:
- phosphorus;
- nitrogen;
- Calcium;
- potassium;
- magnesium.
Depending on the type of mullein and its additives, it can be in the following forms:
- Bedding.
- Fresh Litter.
- Slurry.
In addition, gardeners who do not have the opportunity to get such fertilizer on their own can always purchase a specialized factory mullein( liquid or dry) in specialized stores.
Mullein can be used to fertilize plants in fresh or rotted form, taking into account the peculiarities of use.
Litter Mug
This is animal waste mixed with one of the following types of litter:
- Peat - increases the ammonium nitrogen content, which is better absorbed by cultures than simple nitrogen.
- Straw( hay) - increases the content of potassium and phosphorus, and also contains magnesium, which is effective for crop yields.
Such a mullein should be added to the compost or applied to the soil during the autumn dressing( after harvesting).
Fresh, unlined litter
Clean waste without litter in the form of a thick slurry. Contains 2 times more nitrogen than the previous form. It is good to use for the liquid fertilizer applied at root top-dressings of garden cultures, and also trees and bushes.
Slurry
Mullein in liquid form with a high content of potassium and nitrogen. Can only be used after two weeks of fermentation. Ferment the infusion dilute with water in a ratio of 1: 2 and mix with 50 g of superphosphate.
Features of using fresh mullein
When fresh, mullein is introduced into the soil only in autumn. Before digging the site once every two years, it must be scattered on the beds at the rate of no more than 40 kg per 1 sq. Km.
Spring fertilization before planting crops is not allowed, otherwise they will die.
But fresh mullein is very good to use in spring for laying cucumber beds - it will warm the soil. You can also prepare a liquid fertilizer from it by diluting 1 part of the mullein with 4 parts of water. After 5 days of aging, infusion dilute 1: 4 and water the plants with it, excluding only such crops:
- root vegetables( except beets) - after feeding with fresh manure, the pulp becomes stiff and the form becomes deformed;
- legumes - grow more foliage than fruit;
- Peking cabbage and kohlrabi variety - forks become tough;
- Onions and Garlic - grow poorly and start to hurt.
Features of using ASH humus
Unlike fresh, rotted mullein is better to make before spring digging garden. On 1 square.m. plot 4 kg of humus is enough. In addition, it produces excellent mulch for garden trees, ornamental shrubs and berry plantations.
