Can I use the refrigerator as a stand
Undoubtedly, this is a very convenient place to put large objects and appliances on it. And if you put the TV on the fridge, you get a great overview on the screen from almost anywhere in the kitchen. Such a picture we often see at home with relatives or friends. But do not think about whether it is safe. What happens with this arrangement:
- increases electromagnetic radiation;
- increases the load on the device;
- vibrations from the refrigerator are transmitted to the TV;
- heavy appliance can push the refrigerator.
Especially, in some instructions for refrigeration units it is expressly stated that the placement of objects and electrical appliances on the top cover is unacceptable.
On the other hand, the specialists of the service centers consider that such installation of the TV does not harm any device. Cases of electrical breakdowns from such an arrangement have not yet met. The main thing to consider is that the radiator of the refrigerator must be open for air access.
In any case, energy consumption may increase due to radiation, and the electromagnetic fields of the devices can negatively influence each other. Summing up, we can say that you need to make the decision to put a TV on the refrigerator or not. If the kitchen does not allow you to hang the bracket or rack at all, then there is no other way out. However, it is worth remembering that such a layout is undesirable.
There are models of refrigerators already with a built-in TV panel. You can also find similar hybrids with a hood. Some craftsmen build an elevator for the panel on the back wall of the top cabinet, so the TV appears only when you need it. There are design solutions with a niche for embedding a panel or rotating panels that save space. Such planning should be taken care of before repair.
How to place the TV in the kitchen
It is important to know that you should not put the TV:
- near the sink, it will just be splashed with water;
- in direct sunlight( window sill, table by the window);
- on battery;
- at the plate.
Before you buy, you need to choose a convenient, compact model with a remote control. For a small kitchen( up to 9 m2) suitable diagonal up to 20 inches. The distance to the eyes from the screen with such a diagonal should be approximately 1.5-2 m.
Pay attention to the viewing angle. Putting too high, you have to constantly raise your head while eating. And in front of the sun will gleam the screen. Modern models show the best picture even in bright light.
It is better to place the TV on a wall mount or be built into the wall, you can mount it in a single surface for appliances( built-in oven, microwave, coffee maker).It can be installed in a pre-designed shelf in the kitchen.
