- Reasons for the hands-free operation of the vacuum cleaner
- The vacuum cleaner is buzzing: what can you do
Modern requirements for household appliances set fairly stringent requirements for acceptable noise levels. That is why, if the noise level of a working vacuum cleaner has become significantly higher, then this should be a signal that it requires additional attention.
The main source of noise of a working vacuum cleaner is the engine. Increasing the volume of a running engine indicates that it is operating at increased power. Long-term operation in this mode leads to overheating of the engine, this is evidenced by the increase in temperature of the air leaving the vacuum cleaner. This may cause the engine to fail, and subsequent costly repairs.
The reasons for the loud operation of the vacuum cleaner
There are several main reasons why the vacuum cleaner began to work loudly.
Crowded dust collector - one of the most common causes, especially for older models. A dust bag can hold a certain amount of garbage, it must be periodically changed when it comes to disposable dust bags or cleaned( for reusable rag bags). The acceptable filling level is around 80% of the volume, then the filtering abilities of the bag are significantly reduced, the suction power falls, and the engine starts to work at the power limit. In modern models of vacuum cleaners there is a special indicator light, which gives a signal about a crowded dust collector.
Tip:
Do not reuse a disposable bag - it has low strength and short life. It can break at any time and all the debris and dust will fall into the engine compartment, which can cause serious damage. Reusable bags must be washed to improve their air flow permeability.
Clogged filters - modern vacuum cleaners have a multi-stage air cleaning system, premium vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters are able to catch up to 95–99% of contaminants. During long-term operation, the filters are clogged, so additional power is required so that air can pass through them. Some filters( mostly foam, coarse) can be extended and they almost completely restore their filtering ability.
Foreign Objects - vacuum cleaner traction may weaken due to dust getting into the hose, large pieces of paper or debris, toys and other objects that will impede the free flow of air.
Technical malfunction - loud engine operation may be caused by bearing wear. If you do not carry out timely and thorough cleaning of the filtration system, dry dust penetrates into the engine compartment, settling on moving parts. As a result, the friction coefficient sharply increases, if the bearings are not lubricated in time, they begin to work virtually “dry”, which leads to their wear. Significantly worse if the problem is caused by a winding malfunction or a component failure. In this case, you will need to contact the service center.
Important:
If you turn on a new vacuum cleaner at once, it starts working very loudly, you should immediately contact the service center. It can be argued with high probability that the problem is related to manufacturing defects, therefore such a vacuum cleaner can be exchanged.
. The vacuum cleaner hums very much: what can be done?
If the vacuum cleaner began to buzz strongly, then what can be done not to call the master? To begin with, simply disconnect the hose from the vacuum cleaner. If the engine ceased to make noise, then the blockage was formed either in the hose or in the brush / nozzle. The hose can be cleaned on its own by using a cable for this, which plumbers use when cleaning the sewage system. In addition, it is necessary to clean the brush, on the fibers of which wool, hair, dust and other debris accumulate. All this leads to the fact that the air is poorly absorbed, the thrust weakens, it is necessary to increase the engine power.
Important:
Before carrying out the work, be sure to disconnect the vacuum cleaner from the power supply.
If the vacuum cleaner continues to make noise, you need to clean and replace the filters. At the same time, the vacuum cleaner housing must be cleaned of dust:
- The camera in which the dust collector is located must be wiped with a damp cloth and the garbage accumulated there will be removed.
- Clean all slots, ribs, and niches in the vacuum cleaner housing where dust can accumulate.
- Examine the attachment point of the dust collector - it should be clean, dust and sand particles will interfere with tight attachment of the dust bag. Through leaks, dust will get into the motor, causing increased wear of the bearings.
- Blow out the engine compartment by disconnecting the dust collector. In this case, the body must be tilted in different directions, changing the suction power - this will get rid of debris and dust trapped in the engine compartment.
. If after that the engine continues to make noise and does not absorb dust well, it is necessary to contact the service center.
Before using the vacuum cleaner, make sure that all parts are in place, the filters are tight and there are no gaps through which dust can get into the engine compartment. In addition, loose parts due to vibration will cause additional noise, and over time may fail.
