Are you moving to a new place of residence or are you changing the location of your office and want to disassemble an air conditioner or split system yourself? Depending on the type of device, the dismantling of air conditioners has its own characteristics. Also this process is influenced by the time of year, and of course the availability of the appropriate tool.
Quickly and efficiently carry out the dismantling of the split-system of air conditioners, only a team of professionals can, but their work is worth a lot of money, especially if you need to dismantle several split-systems at once. The price for dismantling depends on the power of air conditioners - the higher the power, the higher the cost of dismantling.
But there is always an alternative. Dismantling the air conditioner can be done independently, for this you need to have all the necessary tools, and of course to know how to do it.

Dismantling the wall split system
- Swedish keys - 2 pcs;
- Pipe or Wire Cutter;

- In order to disassemble the air conditioner while preserving the freon, we will need a manometric station( if dismantling will be done in the winter).
Dismantling the air conditioner with preservation of freon begins with the injection of freon into an external unit, in order to use it again. To do this, we connect a pressure gauge to the valve through the Schrader valve to the gas valve on the nozzle. The next stage is to remove the side panel, and with the help of the hexagon, we tighten the valve on the blower. Within two minutes, the pressure should drop below zero. Twist the suction valve, turn off the air conditioner and disconnect from electricity.
Next, using pliers or a pipe cutter, disconnect( trim) the main pipes at a distance of 15-20 cm from the nozzle, roll them and remove the outdoor module from the brackets. The outer module must be placed in a tight cardboard box and overlaid with foam on the sides. Turn off the brackets with wrenches.
Important:
The transportation of the condenser unit is strictly vertical.
We start dismantling the internal unit of the split system. Open the cover protecting the device from external damage, unscrew the fasteners from both sides that hold the module. We disconnect the pipeline mains, roll the ends of the tubes with a vice, disconnect the inter-wire electric wires, remove the unit from the mounting plate and unclip the fasteners.
Now we remove the fastening of the remaining pipeline and the plastic box. At this stage, the dismantling of the split system with their own hands is almost complete, it remains only to carefully pack the split system and transport it to a new place.
Tip:
If you strictly follow the proposed scheme, then the next time you install the air conditioner, you do not have to fill it with freon.
We dismantle the split-systems of the channel type
. It is much more difficult to dismantle the channel-type air conditioner on our own, as it weighs much more and you will have to disconnect the air ducts from the unit. To perform the disassembly of the air conditioner with the hands of the channel type, we will need the same set as for the wall split-system.
The first stage of dismantling is the disassembly of the duct. Remove the grille with a flow-exhaust adapter. We remove the air ducts by disconnecting them from the indoor unit. If they are flexible, then remove the clamps, if the metal then unscrew the screws. We inject the freon into the external unit of the receiver and begin dismantling it in the same way as in the wall split system.
Weaken the nuts of the evaporative unit and dismantle the freon line, electrical wires and drainage hose. Carefully remove the unit from the wall and pack it.
How to dismantle a column, cassette and console split-systems
disassembling an air conditioner with a column-type hand does not differ in complexity from dismantling a wall split-system. Dismantling takes place according to the following scheme:
- pressure gauge check the pressure and pump the freon into the internal module;
- disconnect all the connecting lines of the external unit and dismantle it.
- disconnects all connecting lines from the indoor unit and disassembles it.
The room column air conditioner does not have a mounting plate( like a wall-mounted one), there are no studs( like a column-type, cassette and cantilever) for which it would be fixed, so it is easy to dismantle.
Cassette split systems are dismantled according to the channel scheme. When dismantling the internal module, loosen the nuts on the fasteners, and then perform the remaining manipulations. In this case, the only difference is that there are no air ducts.
You can remove the console split system according to the instructions of the channel or wall split system.
Important:
The outdoor unit must not be dismantled during rain or snow, because moisture may get into the ports and moisture may cause the compressor to break.
