Choosing a place to plant

Thanks to its unpretentiousness, an irga gets not the best places in the garden plot. Planted in the shadow areas, the plant begins to reach for the sun's rays, which leads to its enhanced growth. The shrub begins to resemble a tree, on which all the largest and ripe berries are at the top to the delight of the birds that fly.

Transplanting an adult plant is very difficult due to the well-developed root system, which goes several meters deep.

Shrub it is possible to find a sunny or slightly shaded area. Despite the fact that irga is unpretentious to the soil, it is desirable that it be fertile. Then the roots of the plant will be able to get good nutrition, and not to spread far away the root growth.

When planting a number of shrubs should be sufficient distance between them. Irga is a fast growing plant. At close planting, the foliage of neighboring shrubs will begin to shade each other, which leads to a decrease in the number of fruits. For the root system there will not be enough nutrients and it will have to scatter its branches far away. This will lead to the fact that the place near the bushes will become unsuitable for planting other plants.

The distance between the shrubberry and other plantations should be between 2 and 5 meters.

If you wish to use shrubs of irgi as a hedge, you can plant bushes in a checkerboard pattern.

Sapling for planting should be 1-2 years old.

Planting and care of an irgi in the Moscow region due to soil characteristics requires preparatory work:

  1. The area intended for planting should be cleared of weeds.
  2. Add fertilizers to the upper soil layer: organic - 3-4 kg, superphosphate - 0.5 kg, potash salt - 200 g. Ash is an excellent potassium fertilizer.
  3. To dig a layer of soil on the "spade bayonet", to a depth of 20-22 cm.
  4. If the soil is acidic, you should add lime.
  5. Dig a landing hole 50-80 cm wide, 30-40 cm deep.

Landing:

  1. Lower the seedling into the dug pit so that the entire root system is below ground level.
  2. Stick a seedling, slightly tilted from the sunny side, dug with earth and carefully tamped.
  3. Pour heavily.
  4. When the soil has settled, add land so that the landing area is level with the surface.
