Dishwasher watering agent - what is it and what is it for? The answers to these and other questions in our article.
Dishwasher models are equipped not only with a standard set of programs, but also with additional functions and technologies. New developments of manufacturers allow you to facilitate the use of technology and save your time. Increasingly, the water purity sensor is encountered in the PMM.

The principle of operation of the Aquasensor
The water sensor is a sensor of purity or turbidity of water. It allows you to significantly save on the consumption of resources, because it determines the level of pollution. The device picks up dirt particles, food debris, scale.
The quality of the water directly affects the readings of the Aquasensor sensor. If it is tough, contains many heavy impurities, then the quality of washing dishes will be worse, and the consumption of resources will increase.
Sensor includes an infrared LED and a phototransistor. There are elements on the board, against each other. On top of the product is covered with a plastic case, which is bent in the shape of the letter U.
How does the device work? Simple enough:
- LED sends an infrared beam.
- The beam passes through the body and meets with a phototransistor.
- When determining the turbidity, the sensor gives a signal to the electronic module.
- The machine drains the used liquid, fills in the clean and repeats the rinsing cycle until the sensor signals that the water is clear.
If the turbidity is exceeded, the beam from the LED will not penetrate to the phototransistor. The control card will not receive a signal and will issue a re-rinse command.
Thanks to the Aquasensor sensor, detergent residues are also detected. As a result, the machine reduces or prolongs the cycle as needed, which saves up to four liters of water and effectively launders the dishes.
If plaque forms on the sensor, its sensitivity decreases. Therefore, it is recommended that use the salt .It attracts heavy impurities, improving the quality of washing.
Additionally, you can adjust the water hardness level of the in the dishwasher( if you have such functionality in your model), which will improve the work.
How to replace the turbidity sensor
by yourself You can replace or clean the water sensor yourself.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the hopper door.
- Remove the screws on the inner perimeter.
- Close the camera and remove the outer panel from the door.
- Remove the screws and remove the inner plate( for embedded machines).
- For freestanding equipment, it is enough to open access to the bottom, remove the bottom panel.
- Open the hopper, remove the drain filter.
- Remove the lower sprayer.
- Remove the screws around the perimeter of the filter seat.
- Turn the PMM on the back.
- Disconnect the wiring and hoses from the circulation pump assembly.
- Remove the assembly from the mounts.
- Disconnect the wires from the aqua sensor.
- Release the catch and remove the sensor.
- Install a new part.
Today, more and more manufacturers are trying to equip technology with sensors. You can meet such a development in the models "Bosch", "Siemens", "Electrolux".In the Milli( Mile) dishwashers, the Aquasensor is called the Ecosensor, and in the Hotpoint Ariston, the Sensor System. Take this into account when studying the technical features of machines.
Aquasensor can be installed in full-size and compact models. At the same time you can save on the use of electricity and water. After all, the technique will not once again start rinsing.
Now you know the features of the replacement and the principle of the turbidity sensor. Sometimes additional development can improve the efficiency of the work of the MMP, as well as help you save. Watch the video on the topic:
